Hello, We are looking to hire a passionate line cook whowill be responsible for the raw station, which includes oysters, sashimi, crudo,and sushi. Fish & Bird Sousaku Izakaya is an authentic Japanese restaurant with a modern, fresh, California flair. We serve the true Japanese food we grew up with in Japan. We want to work with people who appreciate the intricacy of Japanese cuisine andwant to grow with us. We also made the Esquire's Best New Restaurant 2021 list. https://www.esquire.com/food-drink/restaurants/a38254590/best-new-restaurants-in-america-2021/ Qualifications: Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen Willing to work hard as a part of the team Have the attitude of learning the true modern Japanese cuisine Be caring of customers, co-workers, and people around you Have no job is too small attitude you will be asked to clean in addition to the cooking, serving, learning, etc. Always stay busy if the restaurant is slow, then we need to be polishing glasses, silverware, etc. There will not be idle time. Be able to lift 50 lbs Be eligible to work in the U.S. Have a food handlers certificate Have fun in a fast-paced environment! Other helpful skills: Knowledge of Japanese cuisine Experience in cleaning and filleting fish Experience in sushi and or sashimi Experience in working raw bar This is a full-timeorpart-time position; a minimum of three days a week. Employees who work 30+ hours will be eligible for insurance. A 401(k) plan is also available.
